For our little ones, tummy time is an important thing. It teaches them problem solving skills and strengthens their core and back muscles. There are so many poses we can do as moms on our mats while our little ones are on their tummies. Here are just a few.
Upward Facing Dog is great on so many levels! Your little one isn't involved too much with this one, but they can be laying on the floor in front of you while you enjoy the pose. Reach your head up high as if there's a string attached to ceiling and it's pulling you up. Keep your shoulders back and away from your ears. This one is great for mild depression, stretching out the hips and core, and strengthening the back. There are so many other benefits to it as well. It try it out and see for yourself.
Sphinx pose is an easy pose to do. Even though it doesn't take too much effort, the benefits are great! It fights off depression and energizes your mind and body. It strengthens your back and opens up your chest and lungs.
sphinx heart opener variation.
This is a variation to sphinx pose. Interlace your fingers behind your back and lift your chest up. Keep your shoulders down and away from your ears. Heart openers are said to bring more joy and make it easier to open your heart in all aspects of life.
